Children’s Team

  1. What does your serving team do?

Our team helps make sure there is a safe environment for our kids to be every Sunday while they learn about Jesus.  We make sure all of the kids get checked into the correct room, teach them a Bible lesson, sing, and play games with them.

  1. What is the most enjoyable thing about your serving team?

Playing with the kids and building relationships with them.  This opens the door to teaching them about Jesus and having them be comfortable asking questions about the lessons.

  1. How does your serving team benefit the church/Why should people serve on your team?

Our team benefits the church in many ways.  We teach the kids about the Bible and how to have a relationship with Jesus.  As the church, it is our responsibility to come alongside the parents to "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22.6)"  Also,  when you join the serving team you build lots of relationships with other people in the church.  I have gotten to know the parents, kids, and other servers.  Since serving with the kids, I have felt so much more connected with the community here at Destination.

Worship Team

  1. What does your serving team do?

We prepare the structure, music, and flow of worship for our Sunday services and prayer meetings.

  1. What is the most enjoyable thing about your serving team?

We get to make beautiful music every week, worshiping God with the gifts He's given us and seeing everyone connecting with God. Serving on our team also builds relationships with other band members.

  1. How does your serving team benefit the church?

We're always looking for more instrumentalists and vocalists. Being a part of the worship team is an excellent way to grow in your musical abilities. It's great to be able to help the church experience and enjoy God through music. If you get excited about worship, come talk to us!

Hospitality Team

  1. What does your serving team do?

We run the Refreshments table, and the Resources table as well as making the school feel more like a church each week by adding small touches around the building.

  1. What is the most enjoyable thing about your serving team?

I love how much interaction I get to have with our church community every Sunday morning when they stop by for a treat or a warm drink. I've gotten to know so many people by leading and serving on this team and I look forward to coming each week to see my church family. 🙂

  1. How does your serving team benefit the church?

We serve the church by providing free resources to help people to grow in their relationship with God, and we provide free refreshments which I believe help people to feel welcome each week. You should join my team if you're looking to get integrated into the heart of the church and to meet new people.

Video Testimony Team

  1. What does your serving team do?

We create 1-3 minute videos to share on Sunday mornings.

  1. What is the most enjoyable thing about your serving team?

The most enjoyable part of creating the videos are the moments before the camera is recording. I get the chance to hear a person's story and just talk with each other about our relationships with God.

  1. How does your serving team benefit the church?

The team provides a platform for people to share their stories, initiate a connection, and, most of all, celebrate what God is doing in the lives of the community that makes up Destination. Serving on this team is great for those who have a desire to get to know one another and take part in facilitating a way for people's stories to be shared and a connection to be made. No previous video experience required.

Greeting Team

  1. What does your serving team do?

The team's purpose is to guide guests into service while getting to know each guest along the way and answering some of the guests’ questions.

  1. What’s the most enjoyable thing about your serving team?

Being the first faces guests see as they enter Destination gives greeters a unique and blessed opportunity to contribute to a newcomers' impression of the church, occasionally being the first expression of Christ. For the regular attenders and members, greeters serve as a friendly and familiar face.

  1. How does your serving team benefit the church?

The Greeting Team benefits the church by serving as a great introductory team for serving at Destination. People should serve on the team if they have a heart for hospitality and if they want to have a low-barrier reason to interact with other members of the congregation.

Audio

  1. What does your serving team do?

Audio tech sets up and breaks down the audio equipment every Sunday. We control all aspects of audio during the service, including recording the message and the service as a whole. We help create an audio environment during the service that helps people feel comfortable and focus on the different aspects of the service. We basically make everyone (worship team, preacher) look and sound good.

  1. What is the most enjoyable thing about your serving team?

I personally really enjoy setting the atmosphere in the room, working with the worship team to create beautifully sounding moments. Being first in the door in the morning, and the last out makes me aware of what we're building as a church, I love being a part of something I'm passionate about.

  1. How does the serving team benefit the church?

We help transform a space that would be tough to meet in for a large group of people into a space that encourages involvement and helps usher people into worship. You should join the audio tech team if you're interested in the behind the scenes audio work of Sunday meetings. No previous experience needed.

Ushering Team

  1. What does your serving team do?

We put together that wonderful paper program that guides everyone through the service and provides more information about upcoming events, groups, etc. We make sure everyone has one as they come into the auditorium, and then we take up the offering and communication cards at the end of the service.

  1. What is the most enjoyable thing about your serving team?

You get to greet everyone attending that day! You really get to know everyone - that makes it easier to recognize a new face and reach out and make them feel welcome.

  1. How does the serving team benefit the church?

Without the ushering team there would be a pile of paper to greet you...we prevent paper cuts. But really, we are the communication between you and the church. We deliver the church's information to you - how to reach out for prayer, and how to join a small group. We also receive whatever you give in tithes and offerings. People should serve on this team if they want a low barrier way to meet people. It's so easy with the ushering team!
