This Sunday, June 27th, we launch our most epic teaching series to date: BLOCKBUSTER FAITH

Matthew 22:10 tells us that God loves a large crowd. It goes into detail to explain that God is planning a BIG event and he’s invited a lot of people to it. In fact, this event could be compared to the opening night of a blockbuster movie. There has been a lot of effort put into the preparation, advertising and promotion. This movie includes the best and brightest stars. There is a real buzz going on in the city. God has prepared an awesome theatre for the showing. The critics are calling this the most epic story of all time!

Unfortunately, although many have heard, many have given pretty lame reasons for not attending. In response, a commission has been given to the promoters: go out into the most populated areas and round people up! Find anyone you can — absolutely anyone! We must have a full house on opening night.

At Destination Church we have an incredible opportunity during the entirety of our Blockbuster Faith series to connect with a lot of new people. Here are some simple steps you can take:

Give a flyer to someone you think might be interested.
Tweet/Facebook some variation of this: I’m going to the premiere of Blockbuster Faith. Do you want to join me? http://BlockbusterFaith.com
Write a blog post so that your subscribers can read about it.
Put a stack of flyers in your cafe of choice (ask for permission).
Write a review here.
And, don’t forget to pray!

Unless you are someone who likes to go to the movies by yourself, why not bring a friend along? Don’t forget, for this teaching series, every week is a perfect week to invite someone!

Blockbuster Faith

On Sunday June 27th we kick off our Blockbuster Faith teaching series — and you are NOT going to want to miss it!

We’ll take several weeks to explore relevant themes from movies coming out this summer. This is a fantastic opportunity to give out invitations, especially to people who are new to Chicago, or who have been thinking about coming to church, but just haven’t taken that step yet. Each week will be a standalone message, because each week is a different movie, so it’s accessible to everyone, especially those who have an inconsistent schedule during the summer. Come for any message — any week!

Chicago Easter Service 2010

Easter is one of the most popular church days of the year. That’s why Destination Church in Chicago is planning a special Easter service. Not only will we have an awesome curriculum for the kids, but we’ll be kicking off a new three part teaching series called REBOOT.

April is a fantastic time of year to reset, to revamp and to reboot. With the snow clearing up, and the warmer temperatures on their way, it’s a great opportunity to spiritually realign ourselves.

At Destination Church in Chicago our passion is to build communities that are loyal to Jesus.

We have a deep love for the city of Chicago. As we reach the city for Jesus we will be able to reach the suburbs, the state, the region, the nation and the world. Because we love the people in those places we are starting in the city.

This Sunday, Jan 10th, we are starting a four week teaching series PIONEERS. We will be examining pioneers who have gone before us and changed the world.

Christmas In Chicago 2009

Mark your calendars because on Sunday December 13th, Destination Church is starting a mini Christmas series titled Christmas In Chicago — and you are invited!

This two week series will be a great opportunity for family and friends to make Christmas a touch more meaningful. Christmas offers so many nostalgic experiences so why not make church one of them? Don’t forget that we are taking the Sunday following the series conclusion off, December 27th.
